Where Did Cynthia Go This Past Weekend?
1st off.. this month marks 26 years that I’ve been doing the Steppers 411 Event List. Yup started this in July 1999. Wow!!
Now.. this past weekend in the Chicagoland area was very busy. The Windy City Smoke out (BBQ Fest), Gospel Fest, Chosen Few Old School House BBQ, House Music Community Fest, and of course high school and neighborhood BBQ's, along with the Steppers events. So Chicagoans we all had options. We were full.
Friday I went to Visions for the Majestic Gents Ultimate White party weekend Meet & Greet party Steppin in casual white attire. All Female DJ line up Tra Nicole, Flyy Diva and Cermella. I liked the casual set.
Saturday I went to the Morgan Park Academy for the Fam Records & Tripple 3 Productions Chicago Soul Music Revue Concert. Hosted by Ms. Dinahlynn Biggs, CEO of www.Biggsradio.com. Performances by The Notations w/the Steppers Communities very own Marzette Griffin in the group, Ronnie G Sax with the Delivery Point Band and Mackarello with Da Phunk Band. Nice concert. Oh I know that Marzette did the Notations (smiles).
Sunday I went to the World's Largest Stepper's Family Cookout & Dance hosted by Calumet City's Mayor Thaddeus Jones and Ken Bedford. DJs were: Lamont Watts (ClubSteppin.com), Vell & Keith C (MVK), LaVelle C, Rodney Mack (Detroit), Cross (The R Lounge) and Sam Chatman. Also Farley "JackMaster" Funk played some house. Performances by: Slique "Jay" Adams, Fel Davis, Mekallie and last Terisa Griffin sang her song "Wonderful" House music. It was hot outside too and that stage was crowded at times. Great seeing everyone.
That was my weekend.
